We plant trees!
By Verbatier
Did you know that:
Did you know that:
- 80,000 Acres of forest disappear from the earth every day!
- 46% of the world's forest are already destroyed.
- Every 1.2 seconds mankind destroys an area of forest the size of a football field.
We at Verbatier are very concerned about the well being of the planet and want to help change the climate crisis. Planting trees absorbs carbon dioxide and improves air and soil quality. It preserves biodiversity , improves habitats and creates jobs for over 2.6 billion people. Ecological collapse is on its way. We can help stop it by planting trees.
At Verbatier we make sure that we plant trees every time you make an order at our store.
We collaborate with One tree Planted, which plants trees in areas of the world where they are most needed.
One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation. Together with their partners they planted over 40 million trees in over 47 countries. We are very happy to partner with them
They explain the six tree pillars of why trees are important:
Onetreeplanted
AIR - Trees absorb harmful pollutants and emit clean oxygen into the atmosphere for us to breathe.
WATER - Trees' intricate root systems act like filters, removing pollutants and slowing down the water’s absorption into the soil.
BIODIVERSITY - A single tree can support hundreds of insect, fungi, moss, mammal, and plant species.
SOCIAL IMPACT - Sustainable tree farming provides timber to build homes and shelters. Food-producing trees provide fruit, nuts, berries, and leaves for consumption by both animals and humans.
HEALTH - Trees help reduce stress and anxiety. They allow us to reconnect with nature. Also, shade helps protect our skin from the harshness of the sun!
CLIMATE - A mature tree can absorb an average of 22 pounds of carbon dioxide every year. It makes cities healthier and safer places to live in.
Portugal
We chose to plant trees in Europe. Especially in Portugal.
This initiative aims to reduce desertification, restore deforested areas, revitalize native ecosystems and encourage local communities to restore their environments, as well as provide promotional support and visibility to continue the work of ecological restoration in Portugal. The introduction of native species will contribute to permanent access to fresh water. Together, we can create a greener Portugal.
Would you rather plant a tree elsewhere? Please indicate which continent or country you prefer, and we will be happy to see if that is possible!
